New Requirement: Negative COVID-19 Test within 1 Day of Travel to U.S.

The U.S. President Biden announced a requirement that all travelers to the U.S. must have proof of a negative COVID-19 test no more than 1 day prior to travel by air to the U.S.

as of 12:01am EST on Monday, December 6, 2021.

The requirement of the full COVID-19 vaccination by Presidential Proclamation, effective November 8, 2021, for entry to the U.S. by non-U.S. Citizens/non-U.S. Permanent Residents remain in effect; the only change is when the negative COVID-19 test must be received prior to travel to the U.S.

CDC, The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has also updated its “Required Testing before Air Travel to the U.S.” webpage: “If you plan to travel internationally, you will need to get a COVID-19 viral test (regardless of vaccination status or citizenship) no more than 1 day before you travel by air into the United States. You must show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight.”
